Biography of the Grand Master JI HAN JAE

In 1936 JI HAN JAE was born in An Dong in South Korea, he learned YAWARA from 1949 to 1956 under the direction of Master CHOI at the age of 13 for 5 years then he returned to his hometown where he received the teaching of Taoist monks.

He learned TAEKYON, traditional Korean weapons and meditation In 1957 he opened his first school where he taught YU SUL to YU YONG WU, OH SE LIM and KWON TAE MAN.

He then moved to Seoul in September 1958 and opened a school in Majang Dong which he called Sung Moo Kwan, his first pupil was HWANG DOK KYU to whom he then taught the YU KWON SUL.

In 1958 when he was 3rd Dan he was appointed responsible for the Seoul region for the development of the YU KWON SUL.

He decided to change the name of YU KWON SUL to HAPKIDO by what he thought that the name YU KWON SUL was too long and that the DO meant: the way, the way of life and that SUL only meant: the technique. In addition, all the other martial arts ended with DO (Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Su Bak Do, Yu Do)
The best known students of this school are KANG JONG SOK, HWANG DOK KYU, MYONG KWAN SIK, KIM MYONG JIN , KIM YONG HWAN, LEE TAE JOON, KIM MYUNG YONG, and KIM DOK IN.
He moves his school to the Jong Bu Shi Jang district and his best students are HAN BONG SU and CHOI SEK HO.

 او تصمیم گرفت نام هنر از YU KWON SUL به HAPKIDO تغییر دهد و تصور می کند نام YU KWON SUL  خیلی طولانی است و DO به معنای DO: راه ، روش زندگی و SUL فقط به معنی: این تکنیک است. علاوه بر این ، تمام هنرهای رزمی دیگر با DO به پایان رسید Tae Kwon Do ، Tang Soo Do ، Su Bak Do ، Yu Do

دانش آموزان مشهور این مدرسه KANG JONG SOK ، HANG DOK KYU ، MYONG KWAN SIK ، KIM MYONG JIN ، KIM YONG HWAN ، LEE TAE JOON ، KIM MYUNG YONG و KIM DOK IN هستند.

In 1961 he opened another gymnasium opposite the central cinema of Jung Ang Keuk Jang and it was during this period that his friend KIM MOO WONG visited him and trained for eight months. During this period the kicks were developed and classified.

 در سال 1961 او سالن دیگری روبروی سینمای مرکزی Jung Ang Keuk Jang  افتتاح كرد و در این دوره بود كه دوستش KIM MOO WONG از وی دیدن كرد و به مدت هشت ماه آموزش دید. در این دوره ضربات توسعه یافته و طبقه بندی شده است.

In 1963 he became a member of the Korea Kido Association but following disagreements with certain other members he left this organization.

 در سال 1963 وی به عضویت انجمن كیدو درآمد اما به دنبال اختلاف نظر با برخی اعضای دیگر وی این سازمان را ترك كرد.

In 1965 he created the KOREA HAPKIDO ASSOCIATION

 در سال 1965 او انجمن KOREA HAPKIDO را ایجاد کرد

In 1967 the KOREA HAPKIDO ASSOCIATION sends a demonstration team to Vietnam, the members are: JI HAN JAE, MYONG KWAN SHIK, HAN BOG SU and JUNG WON SU.

 در سال 1967 انجمن KOREA HAPKIDO یک تیم نمایشی را به ویتنام می فرستد ، اعضای آن عبارتند از: JI HAN JAE ، MYONG KWAN SHIK ، HAN BOG SU  و JUNG WON SU

In 1969 JI HAN JAE went to the USA as part of an exchange program between the two governments and he initiated the bodyguards of President NIXON, the FBI and the OSIs in Hapkido to finish with a demonstration in PENTAGONA.

 در سال 1969 JI HAN JAE به عنوان بخشی از برنامه مبادله بین دو دولت به ایالات متحده رفت و وی محافظان رئیس جمهور NIXON ، FBI  و OSI هاپکیدو را آغاز کردند.

From 1970 JI HAN JAE taught Hapkido to the 300 bodyguards of President PARK CHUNG HEE, as well as to the police and the Military Academy.

In 1973 with the masters KIM MOO WONG and MYONG JEA NAM he created the Republic of Korea Hapkido Association.

In 1979 JI HAN JAE becomes the president of this organization and his successor will be the President OH SE LIM

 در سال 1979 JI HAN JAE رئیس این سازمان شد و جانشین وی رئیس جمهور OH SE LIM خواهد بود

In 1980 it will be renamed KOREA HAPKIDO FEDERATION which included Maître CHOI YONG SUL as one of its members. At that time he took the acronym of the eagle gripping an arrow in full flight.

 در سال 1980 آن را به نام فدراسیون KOREA HAPKIDO تغییر نام داد که شامل Master CHOI YONG SUL به عنوان یکی از اعضای آن بود.

Since 1984, the Grand Master JI HAN JAE immigrated to the USA where he teaches SIN MOO HAPKIDO in San Francisco.
